Natural gas runs some of the most-used equipment in a home: the cooktop your family gathers around, the water heater behind the house, the outdoor grill on the patio, and the pool heater that extends your swim season. When a gas line is added, moved, or repaired, it has to be done carefully and to code, with fittings that seal completely and a pipe route that makes sense for the appliance. Since May of 1984, Parrett Plumbing has installed and repaired natural gas piping for Fort Walton Beach homes and small businesses with that same careful, owner-operated approach.
Gas line work is not the place to cut corners. A new hookup for a gas range needs the right pipe size so the burner lights cleanly. A water heater gas supply has to be connected securely and tested. An outdoor grill or fire pit line has to be routed where it will not get nicked by landscaping later. Every connection is checked for a tight seal before the appliance goes back into service. The work is done personally, start to finish, by the plumber you talk to on the phone, not a rotating crew of strangers.
Smell Gas? Safety First.
Smell gas? Leave the building first. Then call 911 and your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or use your phone indoors.
Parrett Plumbing handles gas piping installation and repair during regular business hours. We are not your gas utility and we are not an emergency gas responder. For a suspected gas leak, leave first and call your utility from a safe distance.

Why Call Parrett Plumbing?
Natural Gas Lines Questions Answered
If I smell gas in my home, should I call Parrett Plumbing first?
No. If you smell gas, leave the building first, then call 911 and your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or use your phone indoors. Parrett Plumbing handles gas piping installation and repair during regular business hours and is not an emergency gas responder. Your gas utility handles an active leak.
Can you run a gas line out to an outdoor grill or fire pit?
Yes. Outdoor kitchens, BBQ grills, and fire pits are common gas line projects. The pipe is routed safely from the house supply with an accessible shutoff so the appliance can be isolated and serviced. The line is tested for a tight seal before the equipment is connected.
Do you install gas lines for pool and spa heaters?
Yes. Pool and spa heaters need a correctly sized gas supply to fire properly. The line is run to the heater location, connected with the proper fitting and shutoff, and tested so the heater lights and runs cleanly.
My gas range burner flames unevenly. Is that a gas line problem?
It can be. Uneven or weak flames may mean the gas supply line is undersized, a fitting is restricted, or the connection was disturbed. An on-site inspection checks the supply and the appliance connection to find the cause.
Do you handle gas lines for small commercial kitchens?
Yes. Small restaurant and café gas equipment, including ranges and griddles, can be piped during regular business hours. Describe the equipment and your Fort Walton Beach area location when you call so the project can be planned.
What days and hours do you schedule gas line work?
Gas piping is scheduled Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday are closed. Reach out during business hours to plan the installation or repair for a time that works for your home or business.
