Any remodel that changes where water comes in or goes out needs plumbing rough-in behind the new walls and floors. A kitchen renovation that moves the sink across the room. A home addition with a new bathroom or laundry. A renovation that relocates a water heater or adds an ice maker line. Every one of those projects lives or dies on plumbing that is measured, cut, and connected before the finish work covers it up. Since May of 1984, Parrett Plumbing has handled the plumbing side of remodels and additions for Fort Walton Beach homes.
Remodeling plumbing is its own craft. It means re-routing supply lines and drain stacks to fit a new layout, roughing in a kitchen island sink, adding a laundry hookup or utility sink, running an ice maker or refrigerator water line, and relocating drains where walls and doorways have moved. It is the unseen work that makes the new kitchen, addition, or laundry room actually function, and it has to be right before the cabinets, drywall, or flooring go in. Parrett Plumbing does that work personally, start to finish, alongside your contractor, handling the pipes and fixtures while tile, carpentry, drywall, design, and general contracting stay with the remodel team you have hired.

Remodeling Plumbing Questions Answered
Do you do the carpentry, tile, and drywall for my kitchen remodel too?
No. Parrett Plumbing handles the plumbing side only: relocating supply and drain lines, roughing in the sink, dishwasher, and appliance feeds, and connecting fixtures. Tile, carpentry, drywall, design, and general contracting stay with your contractor. The plumbing is done to fit their build.
Can you add an ice maker or refrigerator water line during my remodel?
Yes. Ice maker lines, refrigerator water feeds, pot fillers, and extra hose bibbs are common remodel plumbing additions. The line is run to the new appliance location and pressure tested before the wall closes so it is ready when the appliance is installed.
I am adding a laundry room. Can you rough in the hookups?
Yes. A new or relocated laundry room needs washer supply lines, a drain, and often a utility sink. Those are roughed in for the layout your contractor is building so the machines drop in and connect cleanly.
Why does rough-in have to happen before the walls close?
Supply and drain lines run inside the walls and floors. Once drywall, cabinets, or flooring go on, those lines are hard to reach without tearing the finish back out. Roughing in and pressure testing first means any leak is found and fixed while the pipes are still accessible.
Can you coordinate with my contractor's schedule?
Yes. Remodel plumbing is scheduled to fit your contractor's timeline, with rough-in before the walls close and fixture connection after the finish work. You and your contractor deal with one plumber throughout the project.
When do you schedule remodeling plumbing?
Rough-in and finish plumbing are scheduled Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturday and Sunday closed. Reach out early in your remodel planning so the plumbing fits the build schedule.
